Wells at PlastIndia 2015
Taking place between 5th and 12th February 2015 Wells Plastics and Perfect Bioplast exhibited ReverteTM oxo-biodegradable technology at the 9th Plastindia International Plastics Exhibition & Conference held this year in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. ReverteTM distributor in India, Perfect Bioplast, a company based in Gujarat, presented the brand and the event was also attended by Wells Export & RReverteTM Manager, John James. ReverteTM Oxo-biodegradable technology offers controlled degradation of a number of commonly used polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene and most recently Polyester. For more than 10 years Wells Plastics have been at the forefront of technical developments in oxo-biodegradation and the introduction of a ReverteTM grade for PET film is the latest advance in this field, confirming Wells’ technical excellence in oxo-biodegradable plastics. The ReverteTM grade for PET film is unique and it is generating great interest in India where use this type of film is used a lot in flexible packaging. Until recently, since many types of multi-layered flexible packaging incorporated a layer of PET, the option of benefitting from using oxo-biodegradable technology was not possible but now ReverteTM can offer this and it has proved of great interest to major companies marketing their brands in India. John James commented “The ReverteTM brand has been sold and used in India for a number of years, primarily in plastic bags however we are now also focusing on the enormous flexible packaging market where we believe the use of ReverteTM has the potential to make a real positive difference to the issue of plastic waste that ends up in the open environment. Everyone, including government officials, seem to accept that there is a major problem in India dealing with plastic waste and we believe that the use of ReverteTM in certain applications, and in particular plastic bags and flexible packaging, can contribute towards finding a solution to this issue in India as it is already doing in numerous other countries around the world”.
