Wells Plastics answers the BPF call
Wells Plastics Limited answers the British Plastics Federation call for collaboration to reduce plastic waste and litter by pledging its commitment at the BPF Marine Litter Event held in the recently at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), London. Carl Birch, Sales and Marketing Director commented,
‘it is clear there needs to be a change in the way plastics are dealt with post use, and Wells Plastics is keen to help shape and input into that process with our industry colleagues. In the public domain there is a growing negative opinion about plastics’ harmful effect on the environment, however this is not countered with the clear benefits that plastics provide. These materials are very sophisticated and in fact modern food production and distribution relies on the high performance that currently only plastics can offer; vastly improving the efficiency of transportation and extension of shelf life of many products. The world faces many challenges, therefore it is critical that we do not lose sight of the benefits of plastics, so that we can realise the highest efficiencies of distribution and that better end of life options are created for these materials so we can benefit from their supreme properties again and again. Wells is committed to these goals’Wells provides a wide range of additive masterbatches to help plastic recyclers and processors of recycled plastic feedstocks improve the performance of the polymers and the operational processing windows for these materials – this range is under continual development and most recently with the launch of an advanced group of antioxidant masterbatches aimed at the recycling industry. ’
