Awarded ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems
Wells Plastics is delighted to announce that it has been awarded ISO14001:2015 certification, recognising the company’s commitment to identifying, managing and reducing the impact on both the local and wider environment from its operations in Stone, Staffordshire through implementation of a comprehensive Environmental Management System. As a significant supplier into the plastics industry it is clear that Wells Plastics has a responsibility to be accountable for the impact of its operations and to take steps to continuously assess and reduce that impact, whilst still supplying effective, high quality products, on time to customer’s exacting and demanding standards and requirements. Through the process of implementation and achieving this ISO standard responsibility and communication throughout the business has been improved, providing a conduit and structure for everyone in the company to positively contribute to reduce the environmental burden and make a real impact in the performance and profitability of the business. The process has been completed following the successful transition to ISO9001:2015, and a 40% expansion of its manufacturing operation completed in May 2018 - a busy year indeed! As with ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 demands a top down management approach, something that the Wells Plastics Team have embraced. Wells Plastics has always worked towards improved efficiencies and the most effective uses of resources; this certification provides recognition of the work already completed and a pathway for future improvements.
